Let’s be blunt. Purple Crane is not the biggest software development company in the market and we don’t have the most developers. We don’t win clients by wining and dining them (sorry). We do, however, get most of our work from recommendations.

We think that’s down to a few things:

• Size.  First, being small, we’re able to keep a close, informal yet professional business relationship with all of our clients. We think that's the atmosphere in which we can be most productive, and have found that our clients tend to feel the same way.

• Professionalism.  We hold ourselves to high professional and ethical work standards with published Quality Management and Environmenal policies.  The senior development staff at Purple Crane are professional members of the British Computer Society.  We strive to carry out all of our work in accordance with the BCS Code of Conduct and Code of Good Practice.

• Experience.  We're not saying that we've seen it ALL before, but we do have a wide variety of experience between us, and have successfully delivered many systems in a variety of business and technology areas.

• Support.  We won't just deliver your software and run away.  We design our software to be intuitive and simple to use, as well as technically reliable, but there will be occasions when you need our help so we aim to be there when you need us.

• Usability.  We focus on the tasks that users need to perform and how they are to perform them.  This may seem obvious but you only need to look at some of the software and websites out there to see that it's not something everybody thinks about.

• Technology.  We keep up-to-date with the latest technology and industry best practices but apply what is appropriate.  We won't use your project as an exercise for us to play with the latest bleeding edge technology.

Perhaps most importantly though, we love working with smaller organizations and know that they have unique needs and problems.  We focus on this area and it is where our expertise and experience lies.  We recognise that just because an organisation is not a corporate giant it doesn't mean everything you need to do can be handled by off-the-shelf solutions.
